Bhairava – Who is he? Is this He or They?

vatuka bhairav, batuk bhairav, bhairav tantra, learn batuk bhairav mantra, learn batuk bhairav tantra

Yes, bhairava is the name of the gaNa. Like how pakshi, mrga, manushya, rAkshasa species are there, alike bhairava is one such species.

Not only bhairava – kAli, chAmuNDA, bhairavi, DAkiNi, lAkiNi, kAkiNi, yAkiNi, rAkiNi, hAkiNi, pishAchi, vEtAli, pUtanA, yakshiNi, yOgiNi, kAtteri, brahmarAkshas are all the nAmA of the clan of the dEvatAs.

Under each each clan, there will be numerous / innumerous forms of them with different name, different character, different mindset, different sizes, different colours, different appearances; like how we are within the bracket “manushya”! Sometimes they have the same names as well; but will remain different; like how people whoever have been named as shaNkaran & cannot be the same one.

So, we won’t be knowing which DAkiNi comes when we call DAkiNi generally? This is an example and this applies to all the gaNAs that looks like the dEvatA nAmA.

And, under bhairava – kAla bhairava is the nAyaka for the bhairava kula under kApAlika matha and these kApAlikAs won’t remain associated with the society at all as their rules or the set of disciplines they need to follow is averse to modern societal norms. Morever kApAlika matha which is under kAla bhairavar is to help one come out of samsAra and so, such practitioners won’t be put in the society as society and the wants of the society are not their cup of tea.

For the people living in society, swarNAkarshaNa bhairava is the nAyaka for the bhairava kula and the term mahA bhairavar refers ONLY to swarNAkarshaNa bhairavar and not kAla bhairavar. One cannot get to learn anything about the vidyA of kAla bhairavar from the scriptures / talks available in the internet. Because, he is not meant for the commoners and so, this is hidden. But, only shall find the details about vatuka bhairavar & swarNAkarshaNa bhairavar. Why vatuka bhairavar?

Because vatuka bhairavar has his own place in the shrI vidyA & kAlikA vidyA and so, as there are lot of texts available for shrI vidyA, his certain vidyAs have been jotted down by the AchAryAs. Though it is said vatuka bhairavar vidyA is mandatory for one to proceed ahead in his spiritual journey; still only after certain years of practice only, maharAj will bless the vatuka bhairava vidyA. Such is its mahattvam and the importance in one’s vidyA pAThana.

swarNAkarshaNa bhairavar plays a very important role for the commoners and vatuka bhairavar plays an important role for the upAsakAs who has got the initiation of vidyAs properly.

vatuka means a boy! That’s it!! Vatuka bhairavar means the boy form of kAla bhairavar; which is why vatuka bhairavar is meant only for the upAsakAs who are properly initiated..

Not only bhairavar alone has the form of Vatuka, also brahmA, vEtAla, vishNu also has taken the forms of vatuka and plays an important role in tAntrIka vidyA. vatuka vEtAla is the son of shmashANa kApAlini and he is as kshipraprasti as vatuka bhairavar.

The abode of swarNAkarshaNa bhairavar is the hRDaya of the bhakta and the abode of kAla bhairavar is the shmashAna and so, the abode of vatuka bhairavar as well!!

In tAntrIka, even swarNAkarshaNa bhairavar has the form of a vatuka.

And, this vatuka bhairavar or kAla bhairavar cannot be confused with the kshEtrapAlaka.

kshEtra pAlaka is the title.. Just the title for the one who takes care of the kshEtra or the particular place.

So, generalizing the kshEtra pAlaka with vatuka bhairavar or kAla bhairavar is the wrong connotation.

This vatuka bhairavar is the prANa of kApAlika or bhairava vidyA whereas kAla bhairavar is the nAyaka of the kApAlika or bhairava vidyA.

Always our thoughts depends on what food we eat via mouth & mind.. And, our actions depends on our thoughts!!

Thus one must choose the food carefully..

Bhairavar carries the terrible appearance with the strength of the vEtAla with the character extremity of warmth & cold. Thus, vEtala mUrti is like the heart of the bhairavar. Again, vEtAla is the clan name and here this vEtala mUrti represents the mahA vEtAla swAmy who has six heads and are no different from kAlagni rudran in destroying the animate / inanimate objects.

Vatuka bhairavar becomes the son of many ambAs as he is the father of all those when he stands tall as kAla bhairavar. There is a specific form of vatuka bhairavar called ApaduddhArana vatuka bhairavar.. He always comes along with the chAmuNDA matrikA when he is worshipped. There are few more forms of vatuka bhairavar like kAla vatuka bhairavar. krOdha vatuka bhairavar, vIra vatuka bhairavar, chaNDa vatuka bhairavar, vaNkAra vatuka bhairavar, kapAli vatuka bhairavar, bhUtEsha vatuka bhairavar, ghOra vatuka bhairavar, kAlAntaka vatuka bhairavar, yOga vatuka bhairavar vignAna vatuka bhairavar, siddha vatuka bhairavar, Ananda vatuka bhairavar, aghOra vatuka bhairavar, dhUmrEsha vatuka bhairavar, shakti vatuka bhairavar, ucchishta vatuka bhairavar, krshNa vatuka bhairavar & a few more like pishAcha vatuka bhairavar kind of; which is out of the grasp of modern digital sAdhakAs for now and I would like to leave those forms of swAmy.

Every form of the above mentioned vatuka bhairavars has a mantra & pUjA associated for that swarUpa.

All these forms of vatuka bhairavar needs a strict brahmacharyam and one cannot talk the vAmAchAram or kaulAchAram here as swAmy himself is the strict brahmacharya swarUpa.. There are a lot more to learn and unfortunatley, we stick to what we know and that too is what is wrong! This is the reason, dattAtrEyar calls us we are even lower than the jaDa vastu as because though we are blessed with the cEtana, but not willing to work towards carrying the chaitanya of swAmy.

For all these forms, shvAna (dog) is the vAhana..

The description of this shvAna is neither phisolophical nor self-dreaming one; but according to OUR mantra shAstrA..

This shvAnA’s four legs are nothing but the four vEdAs and it’s tail is mImAmsa shAstrA.. It’s heart is made of shat-shAstrAs.. kAla gnAnA is it’s neck; it’s two eyes are the shivAgamAs; it’s two ears carries jyOtisha shAstrA and this shvAnA survives pralayA and remain as the witness of srshti, sthiti and samhAram..

Thus upAsanA of this shvAnA alone bestows one mukti & trikAla gnAnA by saving one from all chatru bAdhA; grahOpadravA; wordly miseries like diseases & poverty and all such.. Now, imagine yourself what parAkramA does Bhairavar; the rider of this shvAnA has!

The mantra drshtA of this shvAnA is none but Lord BrahmA himself!!
