Kanchana Pitham

We focus ONLY on the world thinking this world is the source of this sukha. So, we are living within the circles of sukha – duHkha; and, we always wanted sukha alone and we try to avoid duHkha as much as possible. And, we believe the sukha is there in the world & world alone that our eyes see and our mind perceives.

Is sukha a person?

No! Because, Yesterday we would have received the sukha from one person and today we may not.. Or today we may feel comfortable with that one person and tomorrow we may not.. So, sukha is not with any person!

Then, is sukha, an object?

No! Because, we may get this sukha out of the thick blanket in cold season and the same thick blanket won’t any longer provide sukha in the hot season. So, the sukha does not lies in the object as well.

So, what is this sukha?

It is neither a person nor an object. To acquire this sukha, we adore so many things or people one after the other endlessly. And, yet we couldn’t get the permanent sukha though we remain in this end-less cycle of finding this sukha through people or objects.

Getting everything / everyone we like to get OR finding this sukha in everything / everyone that we get OR avoiding the duHkha comes along with the sukha are all unachievable. It is of no different from the camel that runs in the desert for water looking at the mirage. This is the great duHkha a man endures. All the efforts we take to avoid duHkha results in duHkha only.

Running behind sukha is like trying to get the milk out of bull. There is nothing equal to the divine bliss which is Ananda. In this age, we always adore the indriya sukha as the divine bliss or we compare this as equal to divine bliss. This is the trap in which every vAma / kaula mArgis born out of texts are getting trapped within this nUdhana tAntrika vidya. The sukha that we acquire through sharIra are letting our mind & manas feel the pleasure; also we feel this sukha is devoid of duHkha! But, the truth is – the duHkha that is present within that sukha is not felt by us before or after the sukha we feel or during that moment of sukha; as we are getting tied up with the pleasures of sharIra that compromises the mind & manas.

Even the love between the couples is not true as it is also not carrying the sukha alone with it. The sight filled with love looks the man or woman & it is that reflection that settles in the mind and compromises our manas to feel that as sukha. If the mind or manas of one person does not fall within this bracket, then it feels like the other party is compelling to love him / her. So! The beauty and love that mind sends to manas are all the imaginations of the mind. Because a man does not find this sukha with one person or with one object in his life time. He always runs behind multiple people & multiple objects citing various reasons for getting this sukha.

When you are experiencing that person or that object for that moment, the sukha also remains for that moment alone. One is not getting the permanent sukha. And, if one feels a permanent sukha with a person or an object and if that person or object leaves you, it is the duHkha that prevails. So, the man’s true journey cannot be the never ending journey towards this non-permanent sukha.

If this sukha is not with the people or the object outside of me, then, is that sukha resides in me as it is searching for it?

If so, then why am I searching for it outside?

Though the people or object that carries sukha with them remains outside, still it is our indriyAs that must find the sukha in them.. Else, the sukha cannot be felt.

And, where are the indriyAs located? Within us! So, the anitya sukha is getting originated within us through the anitya vastu. If our indriyAs go after the nitya vastu, then, we get the nitya sukha! Sukha is already there. But, we are relying on the mirror outside to look at it inside. So, the same theory – “to the extent we see that sukha in that mirror, we believe that is the complete sukha”. And, we intend to see only the sukha, so our mind is deliberately ignoring the accompanying duHkha from perceiving the same. Thus, this sukha is the reflection of our Atma. Atma is nitya and so, it always looks for the nitya sukha.. But! The sukha sought by the anitya sharIra convince the anitya buddhi & nirAkAra manas to always go behind the anitya vastu.

The one that fills everyone and everything in this world and the one from where all the feelings arise – we call her cit-shakti aka samvit-shakti.

What is the prabhAvam of this samvitshakti? Does she carry the Ananda with her that we relentlessly look for?

We will see in the next article.
