vAstu encloses house, maNDapa, a place of stay, temple kind of constructions and also the equipments used for the construction. Any place will fall within the vAstu shastra whether built one or the barren land or the normal land. Even the money which we use to buy the land or the home or the equipments / objects that are used to build the home also falls within the vastu..
This is the reason, elders say – vAstu has come from the word, vastu.. According to mayamata, where the dEvA gaNa and manushya gaNa resides, they call that place as vastu..
According to vAstu shAstra, the land is considered as the foremost vastu which is why land becomes the Adhara here. The wood that we acquire for the construction, cement, sand, gravel and all such falls within the vAstu shAstra. This vAstu shAstra has even guided us which tree to cut from which direction under the blessings of which navagraha for the prosperous / auspicious home. Also, it helps us test the structure of land. Though now, the real estate people are levelling the ground and make it a plot for easy sale, it is giving us no scope to study the vAstu of the land in which we propose to erect our building.
Our traditional vAstu shAstra has given us several tests to study the soil as well. Even before getting ourselves into soil testing of traditional ways, our shAstra has divided the overall land into 4 types i.e., auspicious land, OK kind of one, inauspicious land and never to touch one. vAstu is a pure & advanced science, in fact. The soil testing that we do in the lab shall be done readily in the ground itself to know the density of the soil & to confirm whether the building shall be erected there or not.
Earlier days, our AchAryAs used to study gO vIdhi, gaja vIdhi, jala vIdhi, yama vIdhi, bhUta vIdhi, nAga vIdhi, vaishvAnaram, dana vIdhi, paitAmaha, supadam, dIrghAyul, puNyakam, apadam, rOgapadam, argalam, shmashAnam, shyEnakam, shvAna mukham, brahmagaNam, sthAvaram, sthaNDilam, cAnDulam, susthAnam, sulabam, vAstu caram and shiva mukham.
Nowadays, as there is no scope to study all these in land, at least it will be best to get the building that covers the necessity listed out by the vAstu shAstra for the better living in that home or office or factory and to earn the sat-daiva bala in the temples.
