Guru Purnima Puja 2026 – Mayon Guru Mandala Puja

A Sacred Worship of our Malavara Mantrika Vidya Guru Parampara –

On the sacred occasion of Guru Purnima 2026, Kanchana Pitham will perform the Mayon Guru Mandala Puja, an auspicious worship offered in reverence to the Guru Parampara of our Malavara Mantrika Vidya.

Devotees may participate in this Guru Purnima Puja through Sankalpa and seek the Krupa, protection and blessings of our Guru Mandala for themselves and their families.

Guru Purnima is the sacred occasion for remembering & worshipping the Guru Tattva and expressing our gratitude to the lineage through which sacred Vidya has descended from Guru to Shishya.

Guru Purnima for a Practitioner

For a practitioner of Mantra and Mantrika Vidya, Guru Purnima is not merely an annual occasion — Guru Smarana is a daily observance.

No Vidya remains apart from the Guru.

Every Mantra received, every Anushthana undertaken and every Prayoga performed carries within it the presence of the Guru Parampara through which that Vidya has descended. Thus, remembrance of the Guru is not confined to a particular Tithi or celebration. Guru Smarana remains inseparable from the daily life and Sadhana of a practitioner.

Guru Purnima, therefore, is not the one day on which the practitioner remembers the Guru. Rather, it is the sacred occasion on which that unceasing Guru Smarana finds its fullest expression through special worship, gratitude and Samarpana to the Guru Parampara.

For the practitioner, every day begins with the Guru, every Vidya proceeds through the Guru, and every Siddhi ultimately rests upon Guru Krupa.

Thus, Guru Purnima is celebrated on one sacred Purnima — but the Guru is celebrated every day.

In the traditional path, a Vidya does not begin merely with a Mantra or ritual. Behind every authentic Vidya stands its Guru Parampara — the lineage of Gurus through whom the Mantras, Prayogas, Anushthanas and traditional knowledge of the Vidya have been preserved and transmitted across generations.

The Mayon Guru Mandala Puja is our sacred offering of reverence and gratitude to this Guru Parampara.

Significance of Mayon Guru Mandala Puja

The Guru occupies a supreme position in the traditional path.

The Guru does not merely teach a Mantra or impart a Vidya. The Guru guides the Shishya, protects the tradition, transmits the Vidya and becomes the living connection between the practitioner and the Guru Parampara from which that Vidya has descended.

When we worship the Guru, therefore, we do not remember merely an individual teacher. We bow before the entire Guru Mandala — the lineage of Gurus who received, preserved, practised and transmitted the Vidya.

Guru Purnima is an especially sacred occasion to remember this lineage with Shraddha and Bhakti and seek its continued Krupa.

Who Are the Mayons?

The Mayons belong to an old traditional community associated with the practice and mastery of secret, powerful and esoteric Vidyas. The Guru Parampara honoured through the Mayon Guru Mandala Puja belongs to this stream of Malavara Mantrika Vidya.

The traditional understanding concerning the Mayon Gurus is distinct.

It is held within the tradition that, unlike Gurus and Tapasvis of certain other Vidyas who may proceed to different Lokas after leaving their physical bodies according to the strength and course of their Tapas, the accomplished Mayon Gurus continue to remain accessible within the earthly plane even after Deha Tyaga.

And there is a profound reason for this.

They remain for their Shishyas.

They remain to watch over those to whom the Vidyas have been entrusted.

They remain to ensure that the Vidyas are practised properly and that what has been transmitted through the Parampara is preserved without deviation.

They remain so that a Shishya facing difficulty in Sadhana or Prayoga may reach towards the Guru for guidance.

They remain so that their Shishyas are not left without support when circumstances exceed their own knowledge or capacity.

Thus, within the Mayon tradition, the relationship between Guru and Shishya is understood not to terminate with the departure of the Guru’s physical body.

Deha Tyaga ends the physical presence of the Guru; it does not end Guru Sannidhya.

For this reason, reaching the accomplished Tapasvis of the Mayon Guru Mandala is not regarded as something remote or inaccessible. They are remembered, invoked and approached as Gurus who continue to remain available to their Parampara and to those who stand within their Vidya.

This gives the Mayon Guru Mandala Puja its particular significance.

We are not merely commemorating Gurus who lived before us. We worship the Guru Mandala with the traditional understanding that these Tapasvis continue to watch over the Vidya, its practitioners and the Guru-Shishya Parampara.

They remain to guide.

They remain to protect.

They remain to correct.

And above all, they remain because a Guru does not abandon the Sat-Shishya.

Blessings of the Guru Mandala

Guru Krupa holds an extraordinary place in the traditional Mantrika path.

The Guru Parampara is approached not merely for ordinary blessings. It is the living source through which the Vidya itself has descended.

Through participation in the Guru Purnima Mayon Guru Mandala Puja, devotees may pray for the grace and blessings of the Guru Mandala for:

• Removal of obstacles and persistent difficulties
• Protection from adverse and unseen influences
• Success in righteous endeavours and important undertakings
• Progress in profession, livelihood and other rightful pursuits
• Relief from circumstances that remain obstructed despite repeated efforts
• Protection, welfare and auspiciousness of the family
• Guidance during difficult and uncertain periods of life
• Overcoming unfavourable circumstances through Guru Krupa
• Progress in Sadhana and spiritual pursuits
• Continued guidance, protection and blessings of the Guru Parampara

The grace of the Guru cannot be measured merely by ordinary circumstances. Where sincere Shraddha exists, the Guru Mandala is approached with the faith that its Krupa can open paths where obstacles appear immovable and guide the devotee through circumstances beyond one’s own capacity to overcome.

Thus, this Puja is an opportunity to place one’s prayers at the feet of the Guru Parampara and seek their intervention, protection and grace.

Participate in Guru Purnima Puja Through Sankalpa

Devotees may participate remotely in the Guru Purnima Puja 2026 by offering their Sankalpa for the Mayon Guru Mandala Puja.

Physical presence is not required.

The Sankalpa of participating devotees will be included in the worship performed on the sacred occasion of Guru Purnima.

Guru Purnima Puja Prasadam

After the completion of the Mayon Guru Mandala Puja, participants will receive sacred Prasadam from the worship.

Bhasmakshata

Sacred Akshata associated with Bhasma and blessed during the Guru Mandala worship.

Chandana

Sacred Chandana Prasadam from the Mayon Guru Mandala Puja.

The Prasadam will be sent to devotees who participate in the Puja through Sankalpa.

Remembering the Guru Parampara on Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima is an occasion of remembrance, gratitude and Samarpana.

We remember those Gurus through whom the Vidya reached us.

We offer our gratitude to those who preserved it.

And we bow before the Guru Parampara seeking their continued Krupa, protection and guidance.
